As a photojournalist, I used to travel around many regions of Goa, in search of documenting various events / festivals. Most of the festivals used to happen during the night time, either during a full moon or new moon. I was always fascinated looking at the stars above when the skies were clear during the night of new moon. Photographing night sky is just a complete love for the nature and its beauty, 'Astro photography'.
The final photograph looks simple and beautiful, but the journey behind each Astro photograph is hours of patience, hours of lack of sleep and hours of dedication.
This single photograph of Star trail is a combination of 400 photographs taken at a time span of 30 seconds each during a clear night sky at Winston point in Mahabaleshwar. The journey behind this photograph is a sleepless day followed by a sleepless night. The day was spent in search of a perfect spot as Mahabaleshwar has many hill points and I had to focus on few aspects that goes with Astro photography / Star trail photography. The main aspect to be precise, always we have to check for a North star / Pole star, to get a perfect star trail. A perfect star trail creates a circle of stars around the North star / Pole star.
